Festival of Sail

Festival of Sail comes to San Diego once a year. Visiting sailing ships line the harbor for everyone to climb aboard and tour. This was our first time going, and as expected, the boys LOVED it! The Star of India was our first stop, and was really cool. The boys got to stand at the steering wheel and explore down in the galleys.

I can't remember which ship (they all started to look the same....) had this fun little toy ship. That was the hit of the day. It had a working pulley to load the cargo, and little steps that the baby could go up and down by himeself. Isaac climbed on the tiny little deck and spun the steering wheel for 15 minutes solid.

One of the ships had soldiers dressed and armed for battle. Another ship was a ship that sailed in the America's Cup races. We even saw a few pirates!!

Bonnie and the kids came, in fact, she invited us to tag along with them. And I'm glad that she did! It was a lot of fun, and a beautiful day to be down by the ocean.
